Yeah some needle nose, some odd screwdrivers, and such but I'll probably do better getting a complete socket set for home use. I use what I got for when I go scavenging at the boneyard.

Finally back from a short vacation, I have started tearing things down.....slowly! I have removed the alt., air box, fuel rail (damn quick connects had me stumped) and the bracket from around the egr. I'll get pics of progress tommorrow. Any tips to getting the tb and upper off before I have at them?

DAYUM! Those gaskets are shot! Probably the worst I've ever seen.

Good thing you tore into this. I recommend changing your oil ASAP, too. Who knows if coolant mixed in with the oil.

It'* not too tough to clean. Patience, several cans of starting fluid, some cardboard (or you can work over a garbage can), and some wire brushes and you'll be good too go. Pay special attention to the mating surfaces of the block and LIM.

Keep posting the pics and good luck!

Scoop the big **** out first, then spray down and wipe up the best you can.
