When I hit the brakes to put it in R, or D, it tries to stall for a brief second. The antenna starts to go down, and the radio is interupted, and some of the dash lights go on, and some bells/dings, like when you 1st start the car. So it stalls for a brief second, but then keeps going, sometimes it does do a complete stall. This can happen while I'm driving as well, but I have to stress that it happens when I apply the brake. I was thinking that it'* an obvious electrical issue, or possibly something w/ ABS. I can hear a click coming from under the glove compartment box right before this happens sometimes. It'* wierd. I've never heard of this happening at all. Suggestions?

Check your main power wires. Its been a while since I replaced mine, but follow every significant wire (8 gauge and larger) that goes out of your battery and check to make sure the terminals are tightly screwed down, and that the wire strands themselves aren't corroded around the terminals and making a bad contact.

Very commonly that many things won't have an issue unless they are interconnected, and the winning interconnecting point is probably a ground buss. Easy to check.

I also took it in to Murrays for a scan, even though I knew it would come up empty as no 'warning' lights are coming on, and sure enough it came up empty. Does it cost anything to take your car into a Pontiac dealership, and have them scan the computer?

I even thought it might be some vacuum type issue, but the cruise control works fine, and I don't see any issues anywhere else. There is a clicking noise where the computer is right when I hit the brakes, so I opened that up and you won't believe what I found. FRENCH FRIES! I swear to god, 10 yr old FRENCH FRIES! LOL. As you know the only way those could have gotten there would be for somebody to unsrew the computer hatch/cover and put them there. There is no way they could have fallen from the glove compartment box, or anything so, just thought I'd share that with everybody, lol. Any help on this would be appreciated, It has to be electrical, but everything looks fine. I'm at an absolute loss, and I'm considering going on a tri-state killing spree, It'* sending me over the edge. Oh yeah, and I had to throw a starter on my wifes Nissan this weekend, that took 12 beers, but I got it done. Lovin the site!!

When I look at the post, I see this:

the following seems to happen for a brief moment:

-antenna goes down
-radio off
-dash lights on (brake/oil light?, not indicated in post)
-bells/dings (could be for many different reasons depending on options and settings)
-engine stalls or almost stalls
-click under glove compartment box

My car does 4 of those when I turn the car off. I don't have a telescoping antenna, and I'm not aware of clicks under the glove compartment box. These seem consistent with braking causing the ignition to cut out.

Some thing that come to my mind are:
-do you have an aftermarket or factory ignition kill as part of a security system?
-could a remote start cause this?
-faulty ignition switch?

Enslow'* musings for the day.
