volt light only during acceleration
My volt light is now coming on ONLY when I accelerate after washing and degreasing the engine bay. I was thinking that too much water got in the alternator so I waited to let it evaporate.
A few hours later the problem is still there. Here is what I don't get...why is it that the light only comes on during acceleration? Wouldn't more voltage be put through from the alternator at higher RPMs and thus produce the exact opposite result?
Also out of curiosity, does anyone know what needs to be met to turn on the light? Less than 12 volts coming from the alternator I assume.

Might have blown the voltage regulator in the alternator. I had a similar problem where the volt gauge would drop the more I revved it. Final fix was the alternator.
