Ypu the ignition has to be on in my 91 for the trunk popper to work... The 95 will work when the car is in park even with the ignition off... Makes it easy to shut off the car and hit the trunk switch to open the friendly trunk.. Glad they added the lockout on the 96+ tho
But Don, that'* what Retained power, or keyless is for.

93 didn't have Valet mode. Just an FYI. I agree, Kenn'* car is acting as it should.

my trunk release button hasnt "worked" for over a year now. didnt know switch in trunk disabled it ! lol it works. doh !!

Yes, I was in the same boat. Stupid me, I went and bought a new button from gmpartsdirect.com. When I went to replace it I found the valet switch in the trunk. Flipped it. Tried the button and Whola!! Now, I have the door button. Anyone need it?!?!

valet mode was in 96, i think. I like to use the key to open the trunk that way no one can open the trunk if they broke in your car.
