thats when you use the button on the key fob.

Doesn't the solenoid also get operated with the trunk release from the FOB? So if the FOB works that means it'* the wiring and or the button correct?

Sorry.. don't have FSM in front of me right now

Either one should send the signal to open the trunk to the same place, just a different start point. So.....

If the fob works, and the button doesn't, then the button, or it'* wiring, is suspect...

retrained accssory power. after the car is shut off and the door is not opened the car has all the functions that you would normally have while the car is running

OK...understand now.

I don't think you have an issue. My 93 SE behaved in the EXACT same manner as you described. Wouldn't respond with the key off and wouldn't work when car was in "drive." It'* not supposed to work when you're in gear, though.

IMO, the button in the 93 was kinda stupid because it would only work when the ignition was on. A little pointless...

Funny!!!! I get to inform you all of two things I know about this topic.

#1 Starting in 1994 the power trunk release button on the drivers door is operable without the ignition on.

#2. The Trunk lockout feature (power trunk button on drivers door is by-passed) requires either a key or keyless entry remote to open the trunk and it became a standard feature in 1996.

The lockout equipped vehicles have a switch next to the trunk latch (right next to the the air accessory outlet).
