i had recently put a transmission in my 92 bonneville se and i got the other tranny out of either a 94 something with a 4t60e or a 95 buick riviera and the wiring on the connector is different from the one on my car i need to know if anyone can tell me if the wiring is different cause myn tranny isnt shifting automatically and it starts out in the gear you put it in and it will shift manually but without first gear and i think overdrive isnt there either
the colors on the new connector are

connector for new tranny
pin A-lt green
pin B-yellow/black
pin C-gray
pin D-tan/black
pin E-brown
pin F-yellow/black
pin G-black

connector for old tranny
Pin..
A...PPL
B...DK BLU...
C...RED...
D...TAN/BLK...
E...BRN...
F...LT GRN...
G...YEL/BLK...

Hope I understand the question. From my '92 FSM, it shows the following wiring on the 7-pin connector for the 4T60-E:

A...gray...to tcc solenoid positive
B..white...to pwm solenoid negative
C..yellow...temp switch
D..black...to tcc solenoid negative
E..red..to pwm sol pos, to "A" sol pos, to "B" solenoid pos
F..blue.. to "A" solenoid negative
G..green..to "B" solenoid negative

NOTE: these colors are from the connector to the inside of the trans

more coming from '95 FSM....


A..lt green "A" solenoid ground
B....Blue.."B" solenoid ground
C..black..PWM solenoid ground
D..tan...TCC/VCC ground
E..red 12V+ (positive) to TCC solenoid, A solenoid, B solenoid, PWM solenoid
F..brown..temp sensor
G..gray...temp sensor lo

What is the information from the ID plate on his trans? This will give us the year and the model to be sure of the pins. I don't have info for '94.

If he has a '95 trans, then if he reconfigures the wires leading to the trans as follows:

'92 wiring to trans......................95 trans connector

............B..................................... ........C
............C..................................... .........F
............D..................................... ........D
............E..................................... .........E
............F..................................... .........A
............G..................................... ........B
no lo temp wire on '92......................G

It should work a lot better. Should be able to bend the tangs, remove the terminals from the plastic sockets and re-insert them to make the changes for the '95 trans pins . Except, wire leading to pin A from the '92 harness will need to be spliced into wire leading to pin E to add the TCC positive to the other positives, as is done in '95. Not sure if this is gonna be acceptable to the PCM? But it is pretty amazing it worked in any fashion when you see how many pins were crossed!

well i tried it and it worked now all i need to do is try anddd see if i can adjust my shift linkage cause it doesnt quite feel right .i thank you guys i thank you alot.
