Jr'* and I discussed off line.

Flow is out of trans to cooler, out of cooler into radiator, then back out the bottom fitting of the radiator back to the trans.

A fan on the cooler would be benefitical if you sit in traffic a lot and need the artificial breeze to keep cool.
