Default trans issues

My 95 bonneville ssei with 64+++ miles. I feel the trans slips after it gets to its operating temp. at dead the car revs to 2500 rpms before it takes off while in trip it shifts fine. I'm thinking the trque converter or the sjift solenoids. Any suggestions, thanks

I got the car from my dada and he has no idea. I checked it and its like dark red wine still clear no burn smells. I thought about replace filter and fluids but im afraid it may get worst. Seen it in other vehicles. I removed about 32 ounces and added lucus trans slip not alot of change.

At only 64k miles, I would want to drop the pan first and see if there is any clutch material in the pan. Have a new filter handy with the updated Dexron VI (6) fluid and see if shifting improves.

This is a link to a easy way to gently replace the trans fluid without the same implied risks of a fluid flush/ exchange:

I have hopefully minor issues and I trying to fix one to possibly help the other. i cant take off quick enough from a stop or a light car revs upto 2500 rpms before it responds to move. I power break i feel no power, in reverse its quick. Im thinking torque converter or solenoid valves. Any ideas

Are you also sure that the engine/transmission mounts are in good repair? Bad driveline angles can do funny things.

Also, the fan override has the benefit of pulling air through the external cooler when the fans are running. You can also go with a bigger cooler if you see fit.

When was the last tranny fluid and filter change? Have you used any other additives in it? Also, how many miles does the transmission have under it?

trans and engine have 64+++, i am 2nd owner and the trans fluid looks like a dark red wine clear though. I am afraid of changing filter and fluid due to other negative effects that i've seen on other cars. I am working on getting a bigger trans cooler with a fan. I removed about 32oz of trans fluid and added lucas trans Nonslip trans additve.

From the PCM/fans thread, I have now moved omargadea12 further transmission posts into this thread to keep continuity.
