Default Tranny prob split from Dual Electric Fans Not Working

Here'* an update, Mick had 4 of the relays tested by his auto teacher and they all tested ok. One of them was the A/C relay, I thought I would have it tested anyway. I put everything back together again and it'* still not working. Now I have a new problem, the transmission doesn't seem to want to take off in 1st gear. When you move from an idle the engine revs at around 2,500 rpm and the car took off really slowly. I checked the boost gauge and it had positive boost. I placed the transmission in 1st manually and it seemed like it now was taking off in 2nd. I checked to make sure I didn't leave any wires unplugged and I didn't. The vaccuum line and plug is attached to the tansmission.

Any suggestions other than the computer need time to reprogram?

Edit: UPDATE

Things I have done that led up to this problem:

I crossed some connections in the harness for the relays.
I interchanged the A/C & Fan relay'* in the firewall.
I drove with those relays removed.
I replaced a vaccuum hose in the charcoal canister.
I drove it around the block with the airbox removed and this is when I noticed I had no 1st gear and OD.
I replaced the Airbox and plugged the IAT back in and still have no 1st and OD.

HELP!

I can't see how the transmission would have fried in an instant. There was no symptoms... no slippage, etc. It was like night and day. One day it worked, the next it didn't. Its almost as if something is disconnected, and I can't figure it out.

I just came back from a test drive and this is the situation:

If the shifter is in D or OD, then I only have 3rd gear.
If I start off in either 1st or 2nd manually then I only have 2nd and 3rd
Reverse works.

Therefore I don't have 1st and OD.

What the hell has gone wrong. The tranny was strong last night, showiing no signs of trouble what could have gone wrong? I checked the fluid and it'* topped up and clean since I changed it 6 months ago.

You had a friend with a Tech 2 local, right? Any chance you can borrow it to get better data from the trans?

Bill, I have use of this scanner but don't have the proper 16 pin connector to plug it in, therefore it'* useless to me. I keep going through this in my mind and I don't see how it could be mechanical when it ran perfect one day, and I loose 1st and OD the next. This started immediately after I was crossing the connections on the harness for the A/C and fan motor relays in the firewall. I can take it to Michael'* school and ask the instructor if he can scan it when he has time. I’m wondering if I will cause any mechanical damage is I drive it 7 kilometers to his school. Mick doesn’t have Auto this semester, that’* why I would have to wait until the instructor has time.

Thanks for checking in Bill. Mick is already starting to ask about NEBF.

Ok.. let'* try this.

Unhook the battery and leave it unhooked for at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile crawl under the passenger side hush panel by the firewall from inside. Find the pcm and remove and reconnect all the connectors to the main box.

Rehook battery and see if that helps at all.
