Default Tranny acting up

alright recently when i shift my car into drive and press on the gas it will click and the car will bump forward, this only happens when i first put it into drive and press on the gas. im trying to figure out what in the crap it is, its really bothering my

Does this happen after backing up only or all the time. It sounds like either a transmission starting to have troubles or the shifter cable being out of adjustment and not fully engaging.

It could be to that you might not have enought pressure in your tranny. After you shift, will it engage at idle or just sit and freewheel?

this happens after i have backed up or when i have just turned on the car.
and the clicking noise isnt really as much clicking as a thud.

Now that you say that, it does sound like a good place to start. Definately easy to diagnose. Not to bad to replace if you have to either.
