Default Trading up Bonneville'* Could use info

We have a 1992 SE 158k. We are thinking about going to a 1997 SE 117k. Is there anything I should watch for. Our 92 has not been the most releiable car. (previous owner neglect-abuse.) Want to avoid that again. The 92 was the first bonne I ever had and will probably always stick with them now just because I like the car and style. Any info anyone can give me on the 97'* would be a great help.

Thanks
Dawn

Well, on that 97 SE the first major item that comes to mind is the status/condition of the upper intake. Outside of that, a close inspection of all other items that one would look at on a vehicle with 117k. Also have a look in the trunk area for any water, especially the spare tire well. The fuel gage on dash may be faulty, maybe not.

yea the upper intake is the major thing, also you may want to make sure the transmission goes to TCC lockup at 48mph and there is noise in any of the gears
