Default Throttle lift squeel

When my engine has only been running for a several minutes, if I lift the throttle abruptly near the top of first during a 3/4 throttle burst, I get a momentary squeek, sounds just like a belt. I've got a Gates on the SC. Anyone else experience that? It won't do it twice.

I had the same issue with the Gates belts. They load up the various pulleys with belt rubber in the deep part of each groove, and slip. When you let off, the SC is under backpressure and wants to stop quicker than the engine, and squeals.

Not saying this is your problem, but it was mine. Pay attention to your tensioner too.

This is kinda a S1 specific issue. We have less belt-wrap circumference than you do.

I was referring to my S1 and S2 experiences.(95 SSEi) S1 with a smaller pulley and Dayco belt neither I nor the next owner experienced problems due to the belt or amount of wrap.

Merely offering it as an alternative that worked well in my situation.
