Taking off Muffler/Exhaust heat shield..
The heat shield on top of the muffler rattles like crazy, mostlybecause of the fact that the bolts have all came out or rusted off however.. n its annoying.. real annoying. I could put a few bolts through it to the body of the car but id rather get rid of it all together if its not going to be an issue to anything. beause as of now, its lying on top of the muffler.

You're talking about the one that shields the rad and fans? if so i'd try and leave it on. i know that electronics don't care for heat so it might bring up issues with the fan motors and sensors and it would also heat up the rad faster too i think... maybe someone else has just done it already that can shed some light though.

if it'* an aftermaket muffler, you could pull it out. there is enough room around the smaller aftermarket variety. If it'* an original, you better leave it. FInd some way of bracing it. even if you screwed straps to the outside edge and screwed to the frame
mine had the same problem, but if i remeber correctly i just drilled another hole and put another bolt in, i dont recall any major work, it can probaly be done in about 5-10 minutes...a jack may be perferd for more elbow room but it can be done w/o
