That sounds like it'* missing slosh baffles in the tank.

I've heard of this before, but have never expierenced it myself. I believe the end result was the Fuel Level Sensor wiring to the sender.

Dillon just posted 'engine kill' in mech and maint, and he has a 94. His stalls out too. Is this a tank with a loose baffle maybe?

I've heard of the loose baffle theory but.............how would this explain the engine getting starved for fuel on left-hand sweeping turns only?

Thank you. You made me look at the pic of the tank in my magic book. The passenger side of the tank is deeper. Taller, if that makes more sense. Centrifugal force in a left turn causes the gas to slosh to the right. It goes up the side of the tank away from the pickup screen/tube. You just figured it out for both of us, and didn't even know it!

It'* a pretty small pic, but I'll scan it this weekend and show you what I'm talking about. Pretty sweet. We might be on to it.

I plan to test some new Pontiacs for ME this spring. I'll tell you though, I've had some fine cars in my time and I WILL miss this old '92 gal very much. That'* why I plan to stay with a Bonne. I sat down the other night a made a list of all the things I'm looking for in a replacement car and guess which one fills the bill - the Bonne SLE (gotta have the leather too), except the dang thing does not have the heads-up. Man I'm going to miss that! I'd hate to think that getting the HUD would force me into the */C. I'm not sure I like the high-test fuel idea, cause I use the car as a sales car. The high-test would eat me up. I already have to use that in my C4.

Actually Willwren, I think it is because of the oil. I have dont this to many cars. Most stock cars have cheap designed oil pans. If you take a sweeping turn (like to the left for Bonneville'*), the body roll of a Bonneville is so great that it will slosh all the oil in the oil pan to the right and the oil pickup is on the left side of the pan. So basically the car is sucking air and not oil then since it stalls, the body rolls lessens (since you are not accelerating) and it begins pumping oil again. It'* not about fuel but oil. I have done this to my Bonneville when doing suspension testing for a number of cars.
