Default Supercharger how to ?? 96-97

I keep hearing everyone saying that as long as theirs oil in the supercharger.. it'll be ok.. my question is.. how do you check it ?? Does it use motor oil ?? How would you check it if its at a dealership.. I'm looking at purchasing a 97 Bonneville SSEI, but had a bad encounter with a 96 SSEI at another dealership.. it felt like the supercharger was boosting only in burst... so obviously I'm not going with the 96. Quick question also... what would be the price range for a 96 and 97 SSEI in Canada ??

Unscrew the cap from the fill hole on the supercharger. You'll need an Allen wrench too, about 4mm in size. The oil should be even with the bottom threads. It uses special oil, GM Part # 12345982 I believe. Total capacity is 8oz.

A couple of additional things:

Don't unscrew the plug while the oil is hot! It will splatter out in your face. My plug comes off using a 3/16 hex head wrench. Be very careful (esp. if someone else'* car) because the hex hole becomes stripped very easily, then the plug is very difficult to remove. When you put the plug back in you must torque it properly, otherwise it will be very difficult to remove.

There'* 2 large thumbscrews on top of each headlamp assembly. Just unscrew them, lift up and out. You can get the bulbs easy on these. It won't screw up your aim!

I have cool blues, but I'm thinking of switching to silver stars. Anybody ever have the chance to compare the 2?
