Default supercharger

How does one tell when their supercharger is bad? I just bought a 1996 ssei and it runs great, never misses but gets poor fuel mileage. The air filter is new in case you were wondering. The boost gauge is always negative. It went a tiny bit positive but I was going 115 mph at the time. Any ideas out there?

Superchargers don't actually go bad. Bearings and the coupler can wear out and be replaced rather easily.

On not having much boost, I would test the boost control actuator (black canister looking item) and the boost control soleniod (electrical do dad), both are located by the throttle body end of the super charger on the front.
