Default Jumps after put in park

This happened a couple of time yesterday. After driving to destination, I put the shift lever from drive ro park took my foot off of brake and the car jumped ahead a few inches and then stops. Drives fine and no other issues. I was on level ground at the time.
Any ideas as to what could cause that? I had it fully in park, and the fluid is up and only has about 20k miles on it.

You're not alone. The same thing happens to me with my Bonneville, and with the 93 Dodge Caravan I drove before this. I'm not sure whether it'* something to worry about or not.

On level ground, it'* possible the park pawl is engaging fully. Literally jumps like it'* in gear with throttle being added or does it roll?

No it jumps, then it rocks back and forth after it finds park.

Really odd. I've never heard of that.

Could that be a sticking clutch band?

Perhaps try a bottle of Lucas Trans fix, it may help to free a sticking band if that'* the problem, it'* the cheapest and easiest way to start i guess before you start tearing it apart!
