steering wheel controls, couldnt you...
And while you've got it all apart, you might as well check all switches to make sure that they click when you press them. And you'll need an ohm meter to check the contact resistance...otherwise you might put it all back together and find out that one or more of the switches still isn't working...
Both of my bonnies have had problems with the rubber pins and the switches themselves. And I didn't find an easy way to remove the circuit boards so I could take them in the house and solder-in the replacement switches; I soldered them while working inside the car instead, so I had to be extra careful.

is the harness pre-wired for both types?
Can I simply install the radio and wheel control buttons from a donor car that had that set up? Or will the wireing that went from the wheel to the radio not gonna be there?
Has anyone done this conversion?
I want to put an aftermarket radio in it, but If I could get the steerring wheel buttons, I would rather have that.

The wiring is not in the column in a car that didn't have the steering wheel controls originally. I wanted to put them in my 1992 SE, butwhen I took the bag off there was no connector. I have looked at 94 and 95 models that didn't have the controls and the wiring is not there. If you want a steering column and you go to a wrecking yard they'll ask "...with or without steering wheel controls?"
So if you want the controls you'll have to get a steering column from a yard.
