How much fuel in the tank when it does this?
Current mileage?
Do you know if this is the original fuel pump?

Typically what we see is fuel pressure dropping off at this type of age. A fuel pressure test may reveal the pump as the issue. There are a few other possibles..this is the most common and easy to test.

if that were the case what would need to be changed cause gas does come out sometimes from where the two gas lines connect to the back of the engine. I dont know if its the seal or what but every once in a while it leaks gas because i can smell it and ive seen it.

That happened to my car as well. I didn't find the exact problem but I changed the hanger(fuel sending unit), the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and the three fuel lines coming off of the hanger. My best guess is that it is the hanger though. That fixed the gas leak problem. I'm not sure about stalling though. If your fuel pump is old you may need a new one. I'm not sure but I think that the fuel pumps have a tendency to overheat if the gas is too low all the time. Don't quote me on that though. I think I heard that, not sure...

NA..they don't tend to overheat..

He'* a 94. If he suffers from low pressure, it sounds like he may have a leak near the fuel rail that could be working against things. As well..his pump if original is old..

Test first.. replace only bad parts.

Do you have a fuel pressure tester available?
