I turned the car off at a gas station and it wouldn't turn back on.
This happened before, so I unplugged all the plugs that connect to the spark plugs (the numbered things on the side of the engine, not sure what they're called exactly) and put them back on. I ended up messing up and putting 2 on the wrong cylinder, and when I got the car on, the engine light was blinking and it had a slight vibration. I didn't leave it running.

This morning, I figured out what I might have messed up and I went out, opened it up and put the two plugs back on the right cylinder and started it up, it drove fine, i took it to auto zone to get the check engine code.

Like I expected, i got a code for multiple misfires from when I put the plugs back on wrong. The engine light isn't on now, but could turning the car on for a short amount of time with it misfiring have damaged anything?

I didn't drive it, just started it. Once the light was blinking I left it off. The code was cleared and the light isn't on anymore, but I just want to know if I might have damaged anything. I drove a lot today and it seems to be okay, but I don't know how to tell if a connecting rod bent or anything


Don't know why it wouldn't start either; That might be irrelevant. It wouldn't do anything when I turned the key, the accessories would come on but the engine would only click once. It'* happened once before, and messing with the plugs seemed to fix it, so this time it fixed it too I just accidentally put the cord on the wrong plug.

Having the wires in wrong wont hurt it. In fact if the two wires from the same coil are wrong it will run fine. If your having problems with it not starting sometimes, not cranking over. Check the battery cables for corrosion.
