Default "sputtering" under moderate acceleration

I'm having a problem that I can't quite put my finger on.
when the car is sitting in park idling and you "goose" the throttle it misses or under moderate to heavy accl. it misses and the engine light will flash until I let out of it a bit and just cruise it'* perfect. I ran the codes and it comes back as misfire detected.
Some say it the plugs and wires but I changed the plugs and it helped a little bit but the wires look fairly new
Others have said that the Mass Air meter is a common problem as well
Any Ideas????
Thanks guys

Sputtering can be several things.

Fuel, check the fuel pressure, if low, change fuel filter, still low, fuel pump. Could also be dirty injectors.

Spark, bad plugs, bad wires, bad coils.

Was it a random misfire, or was it a cylinder?

The MAF can also be a problem, clean it. Try unplugging the MAF and see if the car runs better.

Most likely coil or low fuel pressure
