Default Need info on a 95 ssei

Hello everyone,

I am looking to purchase a 95 SSEI, but the car has a few issues I need some info about first, hope someone can help. First; the ABS light is on and two of the buttons next to the shifter are stuck on (not literaly stuck, I mean the features are on and won't turn off). I can't remember exactly what the buttons say, and I can't find a picture of them on the net, they have to do with ride control (the last two buttons closest to the seat adjustment cluster next to the shifter), the button when pressed stiffens the shocks for a firm ride, you guys that own the cars must know what I am talking about. Anyway the seller told me it needed a new hub in the front drivers side, that would make the ABS light go off, and the hub contains sensors causeing the other features to be stuck on, Does this make sense to anyone? if so does it sound right. I was told if I replaced the hud it would fix these three issues. I priced out the hub at about $260 CDN to fix. The second issue is the car has been sitting for about 2 weeks with snow on it, and the sunroof has leaked causing damage to the head liner. Any idea what it would cost to change the head line, or any web address where I could purchase a kit? Can't seem to find anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated
thanks

yes the hub might be from a bad hub... just as i am experiencing.. but it would be best to get it scanned.. even though 95'* are hard to scan...

if both of the ride control buttons are on... there is nothing you can do... just leave em...it has nothing to do with that front hub

this is how i replaced my headliner

Yea, a bad wheel speed sensor in one of the Hubs will cause the ABS light to come on, as well as traction control issue. I believe a dealer can scan the car to figure out which ones exactly.

As for the ride controls. They are on because one of the shocks has an issue. So far, there are no aftermarket replacements for them and the ones that are out there are pretty expensive. You have 2 options: 1) Spend the money on new Computer Controlled Ride (CCR) shocks, or you can purchase Electronic Level Control (ELC) air shocks and disable the CCR. This is what most people choose and some have even said the ride quality actually improves from this. This will still allow the car to have the automatic leveling that the ELC supports.

A few side notes: If one of the CCR struts is still good, you might be able to sell it. There is rumor of a new, cheaper source for new CCR struts, but they are still a little pricy.
