OK, here is the scoop....

First, while we were scanning, anytime Mike touched the brakes, the Quad A would show "BAD" on the scantool and the minute Mike let off the brake, Quad A would show "OK".

While driving, TCC apply would literally flash "YES", the RPMS would drop from 2200+ to 1900-2000, then TCC apply would show "NO" immediately. At the same time, I never saw TCC lockup show as anything but a "NO".

Transmissions are not my strong point (not that anything really is), so Mike has been researching TCC lock-up here on BC and I have sifting through the FSM on the 4t60 for as much info as possible.

I remember telling Mike there was a "0" on KS, but I didn't spend any more time monitoring that set of functions (some of us are limited to seeing only 4 LCD lines of data at a time on our scantools) and was focusing on the TCC Apply and TCC Lock-up. We will take another looksy on Saturday

Ok, that'* normal for a 92/93 to show QuadA bad when the brakes are applied. It'* part of the normal circuit operation. Put that behind you and let'* move on.

With the TCC disengaging and not throwing a fault, it means something is TELLING it to, and it'* responding as it should. The first thing I'd expect is the TPS.

Let'* get another scan (motor not running) while you gently press the pedal through the range of the TPS.

Report back here with the idle (at rest) reading, the WOT reading, and note any 'jumps' or dead spots you encounter while slowly going through the range.

In addition, make sure the brake switch isn't on the hairy edge of adjustment, and note whether there are any issues with cruise control setting or disengaging.

Alright this morning Bob and I replaced a couple of the vaccum lines that were badly cracked, and messed around with the MAF connector before going out on the road. When driving there were ZERO problems with the TCC. Driving this afternoon, the only time I noticed a rattle was for one moment between the TCC apply and the TCC lockup. I don't know if there is anything there to look at, but it didn't seem as bad this morning as it was.

There is one thing I'm hoping someone might be able to look up in a 93FSM. Looking for the paramaters of the "MAF GR/SEC" reading. At idle i'm sitting at 1200 and when the throttle was open, we got it up to 31000, The manual for the 1997? (unsure) said it should max out at about 11000, so it struck as odd.

Thanks for any help
