Default That sound with TCC?

I looked the best I could for an answer, and I couldn't find enough, I was wondering what the actual sound was i'm hearing is when the tcc tries to go on driving at 45 and 65 miles and hour.
I've done enough to know it going toward replacing the tcc solenoid, but that wouldn't cause the sound would it? (no clue) I heard someone say they cleaned the MAF sensor, but that didn't fix the problem. I also read I could try cleaning the valve control body? Any ideas?

Thanks as always

Perhaps we should start with a description of the sound. You shouldn't be able to hear the TCC solonoid OR TCC, or torque converter.

Sure. it happens when I'm accelerating lightly at 45mph it'll cut down from 2200rpms to just under 2000, then the rattle starts. It sounds like a rattlesnake’* tail, very soft sound. It only happens when the tcc lock starts, then the lock will disengage with the rattle. When I try to accelerate back up to speed again, the rpms will stutter and rev back and forth at about 2100rpms. I have to hit the gas to get it into the next gear. The same thing happens at 60-65mph only the sound is less noticeable.

I had a chance to get the car hooked up to the scantool, no codes came up anywhere, and the only things that we caught was a quad driver failure (which we think is releated to an ABS situation) and the tcc going in and out of lock.

Guys..Bob and Moose scanned the car.

Where'* Bob on this one? I'm wondering about a possible ping or tune up situation.

Moose...ever clean the MAF or check the TPS voltage throught the range of motion?

Quad Driver A? Was the brake pedal pressed when you got that code? If so, ignore it.

ABS is unrelated to the PCM. It'* controlled seperately.

If you throw no faults for TCC engagement, it'* because the PCM is TELLING it not to engage for some other reason. I have a rattle that sounds very similar to your description on my 95 that I thought was the Torque Converter for some time. It'* actually my catalytic converter self-destructing from the inside.
