Is the trans full of fluid? Pinkish red?

Is this a sudden problem?
yeah the fluid seems fine..it'* been doing this for about a month or so..i had the trans serviced last summer(fluid, filter&axle boot)...other than the slow take off when cold it shifts fine and OD always seems to be there when I need it..once it engages it'* fine.

Sounds like the trans may be experiencing low line pressure... You might try replacing the fluid and filter again and see if that does any good... almost sounds like the Pump is getting weak..

You checked the fluid with it warm, engine idling you placed the shifter in every gear range for a couple of seconds then to park correct? At this point after wiping the fluid off the stick, and rechecking the fluid should be in the center of the cross hatched area...

Guys? any other suggestions?

Fresh unused oil? I have never heard of a 4T60-E using up the additive package in one year... Wow... They did use Dex III right?

I'm pretty sure it was dex III..i'll have to dig out the invoice..the fluid is brownish but completely transparent..it stinks but doesn't smell burnt at all..i've never seen anything like it with any of my other cars..since the change i've never added anything to it..and the slow take offs just started after the tune-up..
