Thanks again fellas. I will try it again in the morning. The problem (flashing temp) only started since I had the engine replaced. May have an a/c check and have them check for loose vacuum hoses. I live in Florida, the temps have been in the mid to upper 90s for the past two weeks but the a/c keeps me cool so I don't think it is anything to serious.

Was unable to get a code because I have not been able to get the diagnostic to work. I will try again in the morning using the instructions I printed off of techinfo. Does the a/c have to be turned on in order to start the diag? Or does it not matter.

I don't think it has to be on... I think you have to hold the off and warm buttons for a few seconds. Tell us if that works, and if it does, we should have Will change the procedure to reflect that.

This morning I tried to reset the error codes. First I turned the a/c off. Then I pressed the off button and the temp control button at the same time. Oh yea, I waited until the temp numbers had quit flashing before I did this. I held both buttons for about 10 seconds and nothing happened. The diag did not start, so I was unable to get any diag codes from the a/c. I had the printout from techinfo with me, so I know I was following the directions the way they were written. Since I cannot get into the diag mode, I am beginning to wonder if I may have a more serious problem with auto control. But everything seems to work fine except I cannot get rid of that annoying flashing at startup!

OK, let me go try it on my 94 control head.

Do you have the control head with the "mode" button on it?

I don't think there is a mode button.

OK, now I have a 94 control head with a 93 HVAC programmer, and the diagnostics mode works fine. With the ignition in run, and the HVAC off, press and hold off and Temp Up for a few seconds to display the codes.

If this is what you have already tried, and it doesn't work, I'm not sure what is wrong.

ok guys, thank you all for your quick replies and your help with my sensor questions. I don't know why the diag will not work, but the a/c works fine for now and I remember reading that it may clear itself after 50 start cycles. So I will just wait and see what happens. You guys are a lot of help and I will be getting back with you all if I have any more problems that I can't handle. Thanks!!!!
