I don't believe security will ever set any type of code. Most body related functions won't.

start by cleaning the Key....if you have more than one set try the other Key....that will give you a start

also depending on your Model and Trim, check the trunk sensor located on the Lock assembly in the Trunk. you can disconnect that and see if the light goes away

When you left the window rolled down, did you lock the car using your key fob?

I unlocked it using

the key fob.
the key
the manual unlock botton
the power lock switch inside the car
with the inside door handle
from the outside door handle
from the passenger side

All this was done with the window down and the key in my hand.

You have to lock it with the fob to arm the alarm.

Everytime I unlocked the car, I relocked it with the key fob, then I went through the whole cycle again using the key.

Thanks for the suggestions and please keep them comming.

Ok, just to make sure:

(1) You roll down the window and close the door.
(2) You lock the car using the button on the key fob.
(3) You throw the keys in the house, you won't need them again.*
(4) You reach into the car, manually unlock the door and open it.
(5) The car horn starts blaring away.
(6) You run into the house to grab the key to stop the horn from blaring.

*Note: This is just illustrating to make sure you DON'T unlock the car with the fob or the key. A thief won't have your keys, so if you have them/use them, no alarm.

hmmmm...
One day I attempted to start my car and nothing happened. It was like I had no starter. No click or anything. All lights worked also.
A mechanic friend said to lock/unlock the car with the key fob several times and lock/unlock the car using the door locks several times then try starting the car. it started.
Now my security light is on constantly. i don't know why.

My wife was in the car waiting for me, she locked the car. Then she tried opening the door from the inside and the alarm went off.
