I've had this car for about 6 months and I love it.
last night I stopped at the gas station, took out the key
and all lights were out except for the security light with
the key totally out of the ignition.
I tried to start the car and it wouldn't start.(security light still only light showing)
after numerous attempts the car wouldn't start.
I popped the hood and started to unplug the battery but decided to
try it one more time and the car started.
What the ?/;;'[; is going on?

Clean the pellet in your key and clean the passkey (vats) contacts inside the ignition switch with alchohol and a q-tip.

Or use your other key.

I second that. If the Security light remains on after a failed attempt to start the car (even after you remove the key), the system has been triggered, and won't allow another starting attempt until the light goes out, about 2-3 minutes later. If your key contacts (the little black chip in the key) are dirty and fail to connect with the contacts inside the ignition switch, the system will prevent you from cranking the starter with that key, and you go into the penalty box for 2-3 minutes. (This is to slow down a thief who'* planning to try all 15 possible resistor values while stealing your car with a bogus copy of your key).
