Default Scary Transmission Happenings...

For the most part, my trans. is fairly solid. It never hesitates, shifts smooth...not sloppy, is full of nice red fluid...but twice now this week it'* slipped out of gear when the car has been driven for a while.

Once it happened turning a corner...came around the corner and gave it gas and it acted like it was in neutral...had to manually shift it into neutral and back to drive to get it to catch.

Another time I came to a complete stop and it did the same thing when I tried to take off, except that time it popped back into gear.

This happened one other time right after I first got it, but I let it go considering that was 9 months ago and I hadn't had a problem since then.

Another factor is that I've noticed a high pitched whine noise that recently started...I really really hope my trans. isn't on the way out...

What do you think?
