Default scan tool

I believe Any scantool for an OBD II will work. It'* the 95 SSEI hybrid that needs the special hookup. I purchased this one for the Hybrid.

This one and it has the right cartrage but you'll need a gm specific OBD2 cable. They cost around $50 or so.

All 94/95 cars are in this category. 94 L27, 95 L36, and 94/95 L67.

The computer architecture in the 94-95'* is OBDI, while the Data Link Connector under the steering wheel is OBDII. So, if you buy an OBDII scanner, make sure it will do OBDI as well. All do not. The new Actron does both for about $300.

Here'* how I did mine for a little more than $100:

I'm going to have to get my own scantool -NOBODY around here (short of Gordy, Nate, and MOS) can scan my car -even had a friend at the GM dealer try scan it and he couldn't get the Tech2 to communicate. Same with the Actron 9145 at Autozone and whatever scantool AdvanceAuto uses.
Heck, even the tranny shop couldn't even get their scanner to communicate. And I'm still getting a CE light if the car sits and idles for 10 minutes -light goes off after a short stint on the road.
