Hi..

I got lots of rain and today night, and felt fear.

The first priorty for me to fix the safety belt, but I don't know how to fix it.
What is the best way? and cheapest?

Body shop? Junk yard? or fixing by myself.?...
Please share your tips.

I think the seat belt shold stop quickly in the case of accident.
I pull the seat belt out quickly, but it doesn't stop immediately. Sometimes it does.

Mechanic said every car has different design for the seat belt. He said some of seat belt does't stop when a driver pull it out and it stops only when there is the accident.
In the case of accident, the bolt drop down and lock the belt retractor.

I am wondering whether the safety belf of 93 bonneville should stop when I pull it out or not.

My 93 SSEi and JSeabert'* 93SSE are the same. Pulling on the seatbelt quickly will not necessarily lock it up. It depends more on vehicle inertia. I think yours is fine.

I haven't tested it in a while, but I think that the belts in the few GMs that I have had only lock when you slam on the brakes. I'll have to check it.

According to my dealer, my seat belts lock up when there is a sudden change in motion. Fast starts and stops, sliding, slaloms, etc...
