A little off topic, but don't Aftermarket AFR gauges read off their own O2 sensor? I was looking through an Auto-Meter catalog, and I was under the impression it had it'* on O2 sensor like thing. Or is your setup with something that integrates with the ECU?

mk, I understand now.

When was the last time you replaced the o2 sensor? Like previously mentioned, it could be getting lazy.

Good questions guys. And questions are the solution to all the problems here.

The AFR gauge gets it'* information from the RETURN signal from the O2. The O2 sensor is supplied with 5v, and a portion of that signal is returned to the PCM to determine the AFR. If the sensor is lazy or tired or SHOT to begin with, the return signal would be inaccurate.

An AFR gauge will only be as accurate as the sensor it gets it'* information from.
