the other day I idled my car to about 3000 rpms only to find that it sputters very bad and actually cuts out at around 3200 rpms.. it won't go ny higher it puts and sputters and cant push the rpm any higher..but it drives normally

uh.......that is the rev limiter, it cuts off the fuel on purpose to protect the engine

@ 3000 rpm cut off?? I'm not familiar with your year but I thought it would be higher then that.. are you able to go pass that @ WOT in gear?

That'* just for idle cutoff. In gear it is over 2k higher. It just keeps people from free-reving their engine and blowing the motor.
