Nick, I think Blazin did an AC delete so I think its possible on the Series 1. He was an l67 though.

Yeah I have My A/C bypassed. For a Series 1 L67 you need a smaller tentioner pulley and a smaller belt. For a Series 1 L27 you just need a smaller belt.

As far as HP you really are not going to see a difference. In theory you do have less rotating mass but as long as your A/C clutch is not ingauged it really isn't much. I did it to lose some weight and make it easier to work on under the hood.

BTW... Mortehl car is totalled? When did this happen?

again, relevence is debatable, since my bonnie motor isn't in a bonnie, but i used a 72 inch belt and was forced only to re-route two vacume lines that run through the belt system. i just pulled them out and ran them overhead, following the wiring harness...

while i don't think there was any great power gain. the motor did feel more free when revving up and the real gains come from the 40 somthing pounds you remove from the front end by pulling all that useless crap off of there...

I'm in the process right now of doing the same mod, and I tried a 73 inch belt which was too loose, the belt deflected about 1/2 inch and i noticed slight power loss, I returned the belt and am going with a 72 inch.
