How do you remove the variable assist steering actuator without rounding off the nut. Cannot get a socket or a good box end wrench on it. The electrical socket does not have a retaining clip on it. Is there a way to remove the end/electrical socket so a good box end wrench or socket can be used to loosen it?
Considering your other topic, I think you're throwing your money away.
Let'* have an accurate description of the noise, and please check the tension alignment marks on both tensioners.
Is the noise only at idle and goes away when you accllerate? Or always? What does it sound like?

I wanted to update this thread - my problem is fixed. I apologize for not taking time to go step by step with the administrators on this site, but I myself was not doing the work. My original problem was a loud rattling/clicking noise which seemed to be coming from the Super Charger. Removed coupler and replaced (worn). But noise was still there and last I posted we were looking at the Power Steering Pump. We replaced it, but found we probably didn't have to ....it was the harmonic balancer.
All in all, I'm happy we replaced the SC coupler and SC oil but out the money for the power steering pump.
My mechanic friend finally used this site, searching for HB info (which he found very helpful) rather than have me ask questions.
The Bonnie is running fine....and she hums!
Thanks for your help.
