Ok. All a car needs to run is fuel, spark and air. Which one aren't you getting ?
When it dies take a used spark plug and put it in a pulled plug wire. Ground it. Does it spark ?
If no ... read and troubleshoot the ignition. It only has about 5 componenets.
SEVERAL post here deal with that.
Does it have gas ?
Try and relieve fuel pressure. Squirt some gas out of the rails or get a fuel presure gauge to find out. Worst case , crank it over , pull a plug and smell it . If no, troubleshoot the fuel system. A good troubleshooting technique I've seen is to inject some propane into the throttle body to see if it will try and start. Don't blow yourself up.
Even a pop, pop, pop, would suffice as if it were " trying " to crank.
Again, it only has about 5 components.
Does it have air ?
It should have, as this is usually the last thing to go wrong.

Anywho, start with the spark. It'* usually heat related .

And don't buy anything else until you troubleshoot it.

I'm going to try to pull the codes tomorrow. I gotta figure this out sooner or later.

To isolate the problem, put a timing light on each of the plug wires and crank it. If you get the flash from the light then you most likely don't have an ignition problem.

He needs to pull the plugs out entirely in order to inspect them. Might as well check them for actual spark at that time.
