Default Relocate Horn Button?

I think the horn on my car sux bad! Ive almost died a few times trying to honk at someone when it doesnt work. I have to push pretty hard on the steering wheel to make it honk and even then I cant find where the button is located. Is there some way I can rig up a button to attach to the steering wheel to make it honk the horn? Like one of those NOS wheel buttons. That would be cool. Im tired of having to punch the steering wheel when I would rather be punching the bad driver in the face.

a better idea would be to intercept the horn wire before it goes into the steering column, if you can find it.

take off the steering wheel and clean up the horn contacts, had a simular problem with mine. Had grease on one contact and a bit of corrosion on the other side. Cleaned up and works fine now

You may be able to train yourself to a new honking "technique" too. My '98 SLE'* horn simply would not honk with a straight-in push on the steering wheel. I had to push firmly IN and UP at the same time, to get a beep. It still was not easy, and apparently was not a feature they tested much on these cars. :? My Aurora'* horn beeps with a very light touch in comparison... go figure.

It should be a black(-) wire at the steering column harness. Test it first before using.

I had this problem, I had to take my steering wheel off and clean the horn contacts. It'* not too difficult, you do have to be careful with the airbag though. If there aren't instructions on the site already, I can give you some.

Could the airbag explode or something?
