isn't it something like 15 minuts after you disconnect your battery that your airbag can still go off? Or is it longer than that?

the car still may hold a charge for a while for airbags but im not really sure how long.

Pull the airbag fuse. Disconnect the battery, discharge for 30 minutes. Disconnect BOTH SIR harnesses (one under pass side, one under column). Then disassemble the bag from the wheel.

I think this is detailed in the Steering Wheel Controls Techinfo article. This procedure is from the manual, btw.
