I just reset the battery two nights ago, so these are all fresh codes.

But I too am wondering how long it would take to replace a knock sensor on a 3.8...

I've never done one, but I do know it'* on the back side of the block on the Series 1. Series 2 has two knock sensors.

code 43: Electronic spark control circuit OR Knock sensor problem

is the ESC a likely thing to go?

I had a knock sensor go bad on my 88 LeSabre and my brother'* old 92 Bonneville.. I know it was that because I pulled the codes and I got the same thing so I replaced the knock sensor and after that the SES light went off immediately after I changed them out.

Hmm.. That looks like it could be the knock sensor but it doesn't look just like the two were on my 88 and my bro'* 92. ours had a blue wire going to it and looked slightly different compared to that. I'm not sure what it was that you're showing though.
