Default Rearview Mirror Reattachment..?

I noticed on an earlier post someone had asked about this- my mirror fell off and i'm trying to figure out how to remove the mount from the mirror so i can glue it on seperately. I hear there is a "tab" or something i can remove so that i can take the mount out and glue it by itself. Then later i can reattach the mirror to the mount quite easily. Has anyone actually done this? How do you remove the tab?
Thanks! '94 SSEI w/ autotint mirror.

I did this to my auto tint mirror about 2 months ago. There are 2 little tabs at one side of the metal mount. I used a pliers to carefully squeeze them down while pushing on the metal mount. It slide right out. I just used some generic rear view mirror adheasive and it worked great.
