Default Radio control fix

My volume up on steering wheel stopped working. I searched and found fixs for 92-95 only. Is 96 buttons servicable. how?

I have never seen 96-99 as serviceable. Maybe a newer set of buttons.

They have short wiring on them.. but a small pick or screwdriver stuck in between the buttons and the actual wheel will pop them right out. Then disconnect the wiring and it'* out.

ZZ, I might be interested if I had a GP . Your adds says works on 97-00 GP ONLY.

My signature says 96 bonneville. Nice fishing ZZ but you didn't catch me.

I took out switch assembly and popped assembly open , removed pcb and took out my soldering iron and solder wick. I swapped the bad volume up switch with never used mute switch and now volume up works and mute doesn't . I can live without mute. Thx, Billboost for your help.

The 97-00GP and 96-99 Bonnevilles use the same exact switches. There are members here who have bought them and installed them sucessfully, just ask. This also works on the Firebird around the same vintage because they use the same exact steering wheel as well. 1 Steering wheel for 3 cars. And it only says GP because it is a website that specializes in GP parts and they were merely specifying the year range. Obviously these cars share alot of parts.

I am not ZZ. Please look to the left for my name.
