Default Question on compatibility??

Hi guys.
Haven't been here for while. Just curious is there a difference in transmissions that regular SE SSE vs SSEI have?do they all come w same tranny just diff shifter style or actually diff trannys?
Also,3.8s series 1 & 2, internally are they same engines w diff SC or series 2 is diff?
Could I drop ser2 SC on ser1 motor and have same power as 2?
What'* the diff btween those trannys and engines if any?
Thks
