pulley noise
hey guys im new here. i have a 1997 bonneville. i noticed a noise coming from the motor today and popped the hood while it was running. i imediately tracked the noise to the ac compressors pulley. i noticed some metal shavings in the cracks on it and im wondering if its the bearings in the pulley or the whole compressor? thanks guys, chris

most likely its the bearings
mine had the clutches go out and it made noise then locked so its possible it could be the clutchs but with METAL shavings id vote for the bearings
which if its an AC Delco brand, most can be rebuilt with parts from a gm dealer if you have the tools and want to, to do it (cheaper than buying a new compressor)

Not sure I know what bolt you are talking about. Any chance you can get a picture? There'* also a link a bit further up about installing a bypass pulley. There might be some information in that write up that might help.

You can google ZZ performance, intense racing, and W body store. That'* where we get most of our performance parts. Other then that, we make most of our own stuff.
