Similar issues. Trunk release in glove box opens the trunk and makes the noise. When using the remote, no trunk release. Any ideas? I have looked at the wiring and connections for breaks. The remote works to lock, unlock the doors but wont pop the trunk. Also the key works to open it. I don't get it.

I'm not sure if it makes noise and doesn't pop open or if it just does nothing. I think the lights flash but it doesn't pop open.

Tried two different original remotes and a new battery, same result.

the reciever connects to the bcm with serial data, like a computer network. the bcm controls trunk unlock relay. im not sure what could be wrong with the car if one works and the other doesnt. possibly rcdlr or bcm need new or programed

meant to say to im looking at the diagrams and the button connects to the bcm as well and the bcm actuates the relay so all that must be good
