Default plastic fitting

93 bonny SE, plastic bypass hose fitting in lower intake. Mine is not broke, but I want to replace it while I have the engine all torn down. I removed mine, looks like a straight thread with an O-ring - but I'm not sure. Can anyone verify if that was an o-ring or black RTV? I am 100% sure that I am the first one to ever remove this fitting. Can someone provide me with a part number / aftermarket source for this? I'm guessing I'll get reamed at the dealer.
BTW, sorry about bringing up an old post, I thought I was being a good BC member by searching the archives first! But I guess I should have started a fresh post instead.. Thanks. Mike

I also recommend you replace the small hose that attaches to it. Mine was nasty and cracked.

Default yep

Okay, thanks.. so, certainly a straight thread with an "O" ring - very nice. Is there a similar thing in the "help" line of products? I'm MUCH closer to an Advance than a NAPA. Mike

Default I hate my local NAPA

You know, not too long ago, if you wanted good parts, you went to a NAPA or similar place, Autozone and the like were considered crap - but I find that I'm buying more and more stuff from the chain stores.. and this is why.. I called my local NAPA, the plastic nipple is 8 bucks, but they can't get it until tomorrow.. maybe. If my car was broke and I could not get to work, I'd be pissed. I don't need this right now, so no big deal. But it makes me want to go to Advance and get it. So, does anyone know if this same part is available through that HELP! line of parts? if so, heck with NAPA, I'll go to a chain store.

Autozone also has the steel replacement HELP product now. It was plastic about a year ago, but steel now.

This is very good preventive maintenance. IF it breaks while removing it, you'll have to pop the LIM, but doing those gaskets would be good anyway.

The intake is in the parts washer, replacing that fitting as a matter of PM while she'* torn down. I like the idea of the metal one, probably cheaper than NAPA anyway. Thanks.

None of them are more than 5 bucks. They come with a new seal.
