Default O2 Sensor replacement

Is it just my imagination or do I have better throttle response and acceleration after replacing my front O2 sensor? I thought this was simply a mileage issue.

It corrects the air/fuel mixture... so yeah you get better response.

It was my impression that the "fine-tuning" of the air/fuel by the O2 sensor did not matter on full-throttle accelerations. I thought the ECM cut-out (back to open loop momentarily).
