Default No cooling fan
1998 SE

Cooling fan dosnt work , Car was hot siting at idle fan is not coming on needle was way over straight up and down.

any ideas? is this a common problem

What was the temp gauge reading? Actual?

Don't know if the 98'* will do this, but I know on my 95, if I disconnect the temp sensor wire, the fans will come on.

temp gauge reads a hair below 90 all the time , i was hammering on my car a bit, heated up parked it running was over 110

That'* about 230F. Wait, way up in Canada? Even with no fans, my t-stat will open at about 200F and the temp will drop down. How is your coolant level? Check the radiator and reservoir for coolant levels please.

Check the fuses also along with your coolant level. You might even have a T-Stat stuck or partially stuck closed.
