I am not sure if anyone other than a garage can help me but I am lots. I would like to do something with it myself if possible. Last summer the air slowly got warmer and than stopped ..so I fugured I had a leak. I have put a charge on it but the system is full judging by the gauge. I have noticed that the condenser clutch is not ingaging ......does anyone have any ideas. I am so hoping that there is some sort of test I can do myself. I would hate to send it to a garage if I do not have to......thanks...Mike

Kind of sounds like your compressor is broke.

personally i would buy a new compressor, so you get the lifetime warranty and if it goes bad your not out the money again for another one.

you can test the clutch by finding the clutch control wire on the compressor and connecting it to the positive terminal on your battery with a scrap piece of wire. you'll hear a crisp "click" when it engages. Then try to turn the compressor by hand. If it won't turn, then the clutch is probably fine. i bet there is a compressor clutch relay somewhere...you could check that out too.

Your climate control stays on automatic, right? when my compressor stopped engaging, the ECC stayed on ECON and wouldn't go to AUTO.

First thing to check is the high pressure switch. It is located right on the AC accumulator ( Silver bottle looking thing where you charge your AC, Passenger side of the car under the hood. Unhook the black plastic plug, Grab a jumper wire ( Speaker wire or anything else ) Stick the 2 ends of the wire in each side with the car running and the AC on, If your clutch works your just out of Freon. I bet your system has no freon in to get it to work. By the 134a kit along with a can of oil at an auto zone or somewhere and recharge the system, By some of the stop leak that they have. It works for a slow leak. You will have to keep the jumper wire in the plug until the system is charged and in order to get it to charge.
