Sounds like the Climate Control has some trouble codes in it. Once these codes are retrieved, they should be able to find out your problems.

I am sure there are other views out there, but that is what happened to my 94 SSEi.

Correct. And it must be scanned at the Dealer or a mechanic that has the scanner. 93 was the last year with ACC diagnostics built in.

I am having the same symptoms on my '92 SSEi (flashing temperature on climate control). Could someone please point me to a good resource for retrieving codes?

Thank you for the response. I followed the diagnostic steps and determined that the system is low on freon (code 66).

Would you also have any information regarding how to check engine codes?

Thanks again.

LittleHovey, I had the same problem in the fall. Codes will tell you for sure, but it is likely a faulty air-mix valve actuator. I was trying to replace mine but couldn't get to it. However, I had moved the actuator arm a few times, and that (or perhaps something else) solved the problem - no more flashing and heat has been pretty good.

That'* in Techinfo, as well, including all the codes. Follow the Techinfo link at the top of the page.
