newbie help! with 94 ssei ecu

just reading in my manual that a special prom removal tool is nessecary. is it? or do you guys just pop em out carefully with whatever works?

well, the prom chip on this pcm isn't like the one'* described in my manual. (i think they where showing the 3.1,3.4 units) it just pulls off and pops back on by hand.
job is done! it was very easy to pull the pcm and reinstall. i had a little resistance on removal / install, due to tight space, especially on the right side
the car is running awesome now. the pcm was definitely the problem. fer a 205K mile
car it runs really nice.
thanks again to all of you for helping us out with the knowledge and speedy replies. it was really apprieciated. his car is running like a million bucks again
great club / forums you guys have here. i'm sure my friend will be signing on when he get'* back home tomorrow.
